The Weekly

Marc Purcell, what is at the top of your mind this week?

It was fantastic to have Shadow Minister for International Development Michael McCormack engage CEOs and Chairs of Australian international development and humanitarian NGOs in a series of meetings in Sydney. He was interested in the diversity of Australian community efforts and the strength and breadth of relationships NGOs have in 85 countries with local partners.

ACFID is holding further CEO/Board Chair meetings with Mr. McCormack in Melbourne on Monday, 16th September. While the dinner is sold out, there is an afternoon tea for CEOs and Chairs that are interested, from 3:30-5:00 pm. Please contact Chris Portillo at [email protected] if you are interested in attending this CEO/Chair event only.

The Framework has been developed via consultation with LGBTQIA+ peaks across the Asia Pacific region, international child protection agencies, and development organisations.

The launch of the Framework comes at a crucial time, as the Asia Pacific region suffers from a shrinking of civil space with legal regress.
