RDI Network launch
The RDI Network was launched under its new name and brand at the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) Canberra office on the 12th of February. There was a good turn out from DFAT staff as well as staff from ACFID and RDI Network Committee members. The launch was an excellent opportunity to reiterate shared commitment to the aims and objectives which bring together the diverse participants which form the Network.
More information about the launch event and the Network’s new identity can be found in the media release here.
RDI Forum - SDGs in the Asia-Pacific: a shared agenda for action
On 2 June 2016, a full-day forum on the topic of the SDGs in the Asia-Pacific was held with 70 participants: representative of academia, NGOs, DFAT, the private sector and international organisations. Together, the group explored how the Sydney-based development community could most effectively influence and inform the take up of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Australia and the region.
Workshop: International Development Case Studies for Learning and Impact
The RDI Network hosted a unique two-day workshop in Melbourne on 15-16 August, training participants through the processes of selection, analysis and writing of case studies for training, learning and dissemination purposes.
Facilitated by Professor Peter McKiernan from the University of Strathclyde - an expert of case teaching method - the workshop guided participants to draw on their evidence and experience to write case studies to advance learning for impact in international development.
