ABOUT YOU
You will be a communications all-rounder! Creating content for a variety of audiences across different mediums will be your bread and butter. You will have strong planning and project management skills, coupled with the ability to proactively deliver tasks, while managing competing priorities and requests. You will be extremely organised, with a high attention to detail, able to edit your own work to delivery high quality communications in line with key messaging. You will be able to support event planning and coordination. Further, you will be customer focused, as well as highly responsive to requests, producing accurate and timely advice is a key part of this role. You will have the ability to work independently and manage your own time while still being part of a close team.
THE OPPORTUNITY
The Communications Advisor is accountable for supporting the Head of Communications in daily communications, public relations, and administrative work that align with The Foundation’s strategic framework.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Drive the production and on-time delivery of The Foundation’s publications annual and bi-annual publications like Fred’s Vision, the Annual Report, and key research and program reports.
Support efforts to tell sophisticated stories through coordinating communications needs with internal teams such as branding, design, data, research and program information.
Support The Foundation’s spokespeople and ambassadors by developing briefs, speaking points and media plans.
Media relations, including identifying opportunities and pitching and coordinating stories that generate media coverage and align with The Foundation’s communications strategy.
Media monitoring and reporting, including sourcing and saving clips and producing reports that explain key metrics.
Collaborate internally to identify PR and media opportunities to raise brand awareness and support existing events, such as the Humanity and Fred Awards.
Support operational and administrative work of the Communications team, such as liaising with suppliers.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED
Strong experience in developing and producing publications to deadline, such as Annual Reports, factsheets, emails, and newsletters.
Ability to coordinate and implement feedback across multiple stakeholder groups, internal and external.
Strong experience in writing communication materials such as media releases, spokesperson briefs and speaking points.
Ability to understand audience needs and tailor communication.
Experience in media relations and pitching to generate publicity.
