ACFID invites members and organisations to host sessions at Conference 2019

24 May, 2019

ACFID is calling for expressions of interest for concurrent sessions at its National Conference, to be held from 23 to 24 October 2019 in Sydney. ACFID members and external organisations are invited to propose sessions that contribute to advancing this year’s theme: Beyond Aid: Championing Sustainable Development Cooperation.

ACFID Conference 2019 examines the ever-pressing issue of sustainable development in a changed development landscape. The two-day program includes space for concurrent sessions that advance the conference theme by exploring topics, issues or bold ideas for delegates to learn about, discuss and debate.

Concurrent sessions are an important platform to share good practice and profile innovations both within and beyond the sector.

ACFID Conference Lead, Raewyn Lans, has encouraged organisations considering submitting an EOI to harness diverse perspectives. Lans said:

“We are especially interested in sessions that demonstrate collaboration within and beyond the sector, as well as engagement with local partners and southern speakers.”

Commenting on the call for EOIs, ACFID Learning and Innovation Lead, Jess Smith, said:

“Conference 2019 aims to build a listening then taking action approach to the program development. We’d love to carry that approach through to the concurrent sessions.

“This year we’re looking for sessions that engage delegates with practitioner-focussed content, interaction and actionable takeaways.

The call for EOIs is open until Monday 1 July 2018.

More information and guidelines on submitting an EOI are listed on the Call for EOIs webpageFor questions, more information and to submit an EOI, contact Jess Smith via [email protected] or 02 8123 2229.
