Australia’s Foreign Minister Penny Wong has announced that the government will be designing a new policy for Australia’s development cooperation program and humanitarian assistance. ACFID welcomed this announcement via a media release here.
ACFID has recommended that the process include an external expert advisory panel and meaningful engagement with civil society (including in Australia’s partner countries).
ACFID is developing a written submission and providing additional input to the new policy.
