The Weekly
The imminent Federal Election has been a focus for our work this week, including responding yesterday to the Coalition announcement of cuts they will make to aid if they are elected (see media links below). We have also been preparing to present the sector priorities to whomever forms government. Thanks again to all of you who have been involved in the Safer World for All Campaigning throughout this important period.
Next Wednesday via email to our members we will launch our own ACFID voting process to fill the 3 vacancies on our Board – we are pleased to have an excellent pool of eight strong candidates standing for election.Â
I am pleased to announce the addition of two new staff members at ACFID: Tim Anderson as our ACMC Civil Society Engagement Advisor and Win Mrat in a short-term role as the Major Events Logistics Coordinator. Both bring a wealth of experience to ACFID.
As we head into the election weekend, ACFID extends its best wishes to all Australians for a thoughtful and informed voting process. This is a defining moment for our country, with outcomes that will carry important implications for our communities, our sector and the world.
