The Weekly

Marc Purcell, what is at the top of your mind this week?

ACFID is deeply saddened to learn that a dear colleague from Save The Children, Sarah Carter has passed away far too young at the age of 46

Sarah wore many hats throughout her career. As a pioneer and driver of the Australian Regional Leadership Initiative through Save the Children Australia, she was instrumental in raising awareness of Australian development programs across the globe.

As Advisory Board Members for both the Pacific Island Food Revolution and Pacific Friends of Global Health, she spearheaded initiatives to promote health systems strengthening throughout the Pacific.

As Councillor and Mayor of Maribyrnong City Council , she was a fierce advocate for social justice.
Sarah lived a life of values and of service.

Sarah will be greatly missed by the Australian international development sector. Our thoughts and condolences go out to her friends, family and colleagues.
