About the role
The Program Officer will provide support to the International Programs Team (IPT), working closely with the Global Programs Directors to complete key internal projects, including initiatives linked to locally-led development; accountability; and training and development. You will also support the coordination and administration of project design and appraisal processes in the Mekong region.
We’re also supportive of flexible working arrangements, including allowing our employees to work-from-home some of those days if the responsibilities of the role permit it.

Key duties of the role
- Coordinate and lead the writing of the annual ChildFund Australia report for Accountability Now.
- Work with IPT, Country Office and local partner staff to finalise ChildFund Australia’s Locally-led Development Approach.
- Coordinate roll-out of revised Environmental Management Guidelines to IPT and Country Office staff.
- Support the roll-out of the Program Common Competency Framework.
- Provide project level administration and coordination support for projects in the Mekong region.
- Support Mekong regional learning and collaborative initiatives across projects, countries and Teams as required.
Qualifications & Experience
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline (Social Sciences, Political Science, International Development, International Relations or Social Work).
- Demonstrated experience in contributing value to report writing and processes.
- Experience in supporting capacity building/training activities.
- Adaptable and a strong team player with demonstrated experience operating in multicultural teams/environments.
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
- Demonstrated experience in international development/community development initiatives.
- Operational experience in the Mekong region.
