About the Project

The Australian Humanitarian Partnership (AHP) is a partnership between the Australian Government and six Australian non-government organisations (NGOs), funded by the Australian Government. The AHP Support Unit is managed by Alinea.

AHP has activated three responses in Ethiopia and Kenya in 2023 to address food security and livelihood issues in the face of food crises and severe droughts. AHP partners – Plan International (Ethiopia) and Oxfam Australia (Ethiopia and Kenya) – are leading the consortiums to deliver these responses alongside their national and local partners.

The thematic evaluation of the responses in Ethiopia and Kenya will develop cross-cutting lessons on food security and livelihoods approaches. The evaluation will assess the impact, relevance, coherence, effectiveness, efficiency and sustainability of the food security and livelihood interventions under the three responses. It will also consider the extent that the program has met the needs of the most vulnerable, has been accountable to the affected populations and has been implemented through a locally led approach.
