The Role
An exciting opportunity awaits you to join Oxfam Australia as our newly created Impact and Learning Lead. We are searching for a skilled and passionate Monitoring, Evaluation, Research and Learning specialist to join the Program Development and Effectiveness Unit to lead:
- Programme & Organisational MEL (50%)
- Research, Evidence and Learning (40%)
- Systems and Capacity Strengthening (10%)
This role will be responsible for providing technical leadership, oversight and strategic direction for Oxfam Australia’s Evidence and Learning agenda including measuring impact in our international development, humanitarian, advocacy and First Peoples programming. The role will support a review and strengthening of our evidence and learning frameworks to ensure that projects and organisational strategy are informed by high quality evidence from internal and external sources. The role will further support the whole-of agency strategic learning agenda, with a particular focus on the development of knowledge management systems and approaches. Oxfam is looking for a leader in closing learning loops and encouraging the use of learning for continuous improvement. Generating robust evidence and learning will also contribute to Oxfam Australia’s thought-leadership and impact communications.
The Impact and Learning lead will also provide technical support in a culturally-appropriate manner to program design and proposal development, the establishment of monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning (MEAL) systems and indicators to capture performance results and provide effective, accurate and timely monitoring, evaluation and reporting of all project activities. This role will work closely with enthusiastic OAU teams and country office staff to strengthen inclusive MEAL systems and practice.
We are looking for an individual with expertise embedding monitoring, evaluation, learning and adaptive management practice in programs; facilitating program design and proposal development; knowledge of research methodologies and impact measurement approaches and; a commitment to feminist principles and leadership.
