The Country Impact Manager will lead WVA’s relationship with WV Field Offices in the Middle East region. This role has a good blend of activities from portfolio management to advocacy. It could be a good opportunity for those who want to apply their years of field experience in the Australian side of humanitarian operations. The role requires you to build collaborative relationships across WVA internal entities, the World Vision partnership and external stakeholders to contribute to WVA’s evolution as an Impact Business organisation.
Your role plays an integral part in the organisation, enabling us to support our mission of empowering Australians to create meaningful change for the world’s most vulnerable children and adults.
• Strategic engagement with WV Field Offices and other humanitarian actors to advocate for change leads to increased humanitarian access and protection of vulnerable people
• Ensure WV humanitarian, development and nexus programs are bringing positive impact to affected populations; and ensure programs are meeting donors’ and WV standards
• Support WVA’s acquisition of institutional and non-institutional grants as a key contributor.
• Support Field Offices to respond to humanitarian emergencies and lead/manage Categort III emergency responses. There is a potential to be deployed to join the in country response team
• Support/mentor other CIMs to manage humanitarian responses in their portfolio
• Manage projects funded by various donors, including but not limited to DFAT, UN-WFP, UNHCR, UNICEF, UN-OCHA, UNDP, and FAO. Ensure timely funding commitment, and set up a systematic monitoring system and risk management. Ensure projects reach the intended outcomes with strong PSEAH in mind and meet DFAT fiduciary requirements
• Contribution to developing and refining key business processes, including grant management processes, tools and resources
• Contribution to sectoral discussions to build good practices and a body of knowledge in humanitarian operations, nexus programming, localisations, etc.
Who we’re looking for
We are looking for someone with field experience in managing humanitarian programs in fragile contexts, strong in project management, proven track record in remote management and excellent at building cross-culture relationships.
You will have:
• Minimum two years experience working in fragile countries managing humanitarian operations
• Significant complex grant management experience, ideally with a grant portfolio
• Understanding of procurement or grants structures and processes of the Australian Government, public service, and/or other international organisations. Knowledge of DFAT and the requirements of the AHP is helpful
• Knowledge of humanitarian principles, disaster management cycle, humanitarian coordination mechanisms, the international humanitarian system and International Humanitarian Law
• Influencing and Negotiation skills, including relationship management with public donors
• Program and project management experience, including an understanding of contracting and contract management as well as risk management
• Relevant tertiary qualifications: these may include International Relations/International Development, Humanitarian Assistance, legal, or a relevant technical field
