This is an exciting opportunity to work with the peak body for Australia’s international humanitarian and development NGOs.

The Australian Council for international Development (ACFID) is Australia’s peak body for NGOs involved in international development and humanitarian action.

We are seeking a highly experienced candidate to fill a permanent full-time position.

The Executive Coordinator is a major part of the Business Operations and Services Team,  responsible for supporting and enabling the work of the CEO, Board and Management Team, bringing coherence and alignment to their respective roles. The Executive Coordinator is often the first point of call for many people’s engagement with ACFID and the CEO, and is a lead in enabling the functions of the Business Operations and Support team.

This role is the Executive Assistant to the CEO, and provides key support to the ACFID President. They are expected to coordinate and support the ACFID Board and Management Team. In close coordination with the Business Director they enable ACFID’s Performance and Learning Framework, and have a key role in ACFID’s Annual Conference.

The successful candidate will have a can-do attitude and the ability to take initiative and be flexible in a fast-paced and changing environment. They will value diversity in the workplace and commit to ACFID’s values as outlined in our Strategic Plan. An understanding of the context of ACFID members’ work and experience working in a not-for-profit is desirable but not essential.

Applicants will then be shortlisted and invited to interview. Interviews can be conducted remotely at the candidate’s preference, though the successful candidate must be available to commence as soon as possible and be based in ACFID’s office in Canberra.

ACFID’s preference is for the role to be 1 FTE but actual days can be negotiated based on the successful applicant’s preference.
