ABOUT THIS ROLE
The Pacific Program Officer (ASPHA) provides administrative, coordination, and program support across Health Equity Matters’ Pacific HIV programs.
This is an early-career role suited to someone with some experience in international development or public health who is looking to build their skills in program management, stakeholder engagement, and regional work.
The role supports day-to-day program delivery, coordination with partners, and internal processes, while also taking responsibility for specific tasks and discrete activities as required.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Pacific Program Officer will be responsible for:
- Provide administrative and coordination support across Pacific programs
- Track work plans, timelines, and key deliverables
- Support coordination with program partners and stakeholders
- Assist with organising meetings, workshops, and events (including logistics and documentation)
- Support data collection, reporting, and program documentation
- Assist with budget tracking, invoices, and program expenses
- Contribute to training, workshops, and capacity-building activities
- Support planning and logistics for in-country program activities
Selection Criteria
- Tertiary qualification in public health, international development, social sciences, or a related field (or near completion).
- Approximately 3-5 years’ relevant experience (including internships or volunteer experience).
- Strong organisational and administrative skills, with attention to detail.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and independently.
- Interest in international development and/or global health.
Highly Desirable
- Experience or understanding of HIV, public health, or community development programs.
- Experience working in or with Pacific contexts.
- Familiarity with donor-funded programs and with DFAT-funded programming.
Additional Requirements
- Willingness to undertake occasional domestic and international travel
- Hold a current and valid passport
