About the Role

Reporting to the Project Director Operations & Training for ABC International Development (ABCID), you’ll play an important role supporting a diverse portfolio of international development programs across the Indo-Pacific.

This is a hands-on finance role where you’ll manage project budgets, grant funding and forecasting, while delivering meaningful financial insights that help inform decision-making and ensure the successful delivery of donor-funded programs.

Key responsibilities:

  • Coordinate budgeting, forecasting and management reporting across multiple international development programs.
  • Maintain financial systems, project data and reporting tools.
  • Analyse budgets, expenditure and program performance to provide meaningful insights.
  • Manage financial administration throughout the program lifecycle, including grant acquittals and project closures.
  • Prepare reports for internal stakeholders and external funding partners.
  • Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, systems and reporting.
  • Build strong working relationships across the ABC and with external stakeholders to support successful program delivery.

You’re a highly organised and analytical professional who enjoys working with finance, data, solving problems and finding better ways of working. You can confidently manage complex financial information while building strong relationships with stakeholders from a range of backgrounds and cultures.

You will bring:

  • Experience in budgeting, forecasting, management reporting or project financial administration.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and provide practical recommendations.
  • Advanced Excel skills and confidence using Microsoft Office, with experience using SAP or similar financial systems highly regarded.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining accuracy.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the confidence to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
  • A proactive mindset with experience identifying and implementing process improvements.
  • The ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team across diverse locations and cultures.
  • Relevant qualifications in finance, accounting, business, project administration or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience working in international development, donor-funded or grant-funded environments will be highly regarded, as will strong intercultural awareness and the ability to build effective relationships across diverse cultures.

This role will require a current working with children/police clearance and ongoing renewal/maintenance of this clearance in accordance with relevant legislation.
