The position will lead the research for the Crisis Leadership Program and support the research for the francophone Graduate Certificate of Humanitarian Leadership. The position will also provide monitoring and evaluation support to the aforementioned programs of Centre for Humanitarian Leadership https://centreforhumanitarianleadership.org/.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

  • Initiating, designs and conducts and may lead productive, high-quality research, scholarship and creative activities generating high impact outputs
  • Engaging collaboratively to develop novel and high-quality research or creative activities
  • Widely communicating outputs to discipline(s) and the community
  • Ensuring impact of academic activity in the field and the community
  • Support seeking funding for research and creative activities
  • Building national reputation, based on growing, focused body of work recognised for quality, excellence and impact
  • Initiate, design, conducts and may lead intra- and inter-disciplinary research collaborations, to enable major breakthroughs in knowledge and understanding and solutions to complex problems
  • Initiate, design, conduct and may lead in development of industry partnerships and collaboration to enable major breakthroughs, innovative solutions for future translation into real world impact
  • Support and may lead in applications for external competitive and other funding, and demonstrates sustained efforts
  • Build track record of timely delivery of outcomes for industry partners
  • Initiate, design, conduct and may lead innovation and translation into policies, frameworks, strategy, priority setting and other outcomes to create positive impact
  • Initiate, design, conduct and may lead innovation and translation into products, services, new ways of operating and other avenues to create positive impact
  • Support attraction of external funding for commercialisation and translation activities
  • Build portfolio of policy and strategy influence, generation of products, services or other innovations with positive real-world impact
  • Demonstrate timely delivery of commercialisation and translation outcomes
  • Supervising honours and/or HDR students with timely completions and productive, high quality outcomes as well as providing mentoring for professional and career development

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA FOR THIS ROLE

  • PhD in a relevant discipline and/or other relevant qualifications and experience
  • emerging reputation in research and scholarship through publications and/or exhibitions
  • success in obtaining external research funding
  • ability to make a contribution to communities through research
  • capacity to contribute to leadership of research and administration
  • excellent interpersonal skills and a proven ability to establish good working relationships with colleagues

Successful applicants will need to comply with vaccination mandates imposed by the relevant state/territory government. Applicants who attend third-party sites to undertake University activities will also be required to comply with any other directions or requirements in place at the third-party location.

  • Working proficiency in both French and English highly desirable
  • Working proficiency in both Ukrainian and English desirable
  • Working proficiency in both Polish and English desirable
  • Infrequent travel may be required to support DESLH and CLP monitoring and evaluation, and research activities (overseas).

  • Construire une réputation nationale, sur la base d’un corpus de travaux croissant et ciblé, reconnu pour sa qualité, son excellence et son impact.
  • Initier, concevoir, mener et éventuellement diriger des collaborations de recherche intra- et interdisciplinaires, afin de permettre des percées majeures dans la connaissance et la compréhension et des solutions à des problèmes complexes.
  • Initier, concevoir, mener et éventuellement diriger le développement de partenariats et de collaborations avec l’industrie afin de permettre des percées majeures et des solutions innovantes qui auront un impact dans le monde réel.
  • Soutenir et éventuellement diriger les demandes de financement externe, concurrentiel et autre, et faire preuve d’efforts soutenus.
  • Obtenir des résultats en temps voulu pour les partenaires industriels.
  • Initier, concevoir, mener et éventuellement diriger l’innovation et la traduction dans les politiques, les cadres, la stratégie, l’établissement des priorités et d’autres résultats pour créer un impact positif.
  • Initier, concevoir, mener et éventuellement diriger l’innovation et la traduction en produits, services, nouveaux modes de fonctionnement et autres moyens de créer un impact positif.
  • Contribuer à attirer des financements externes pour les activités de commercialisation et de traduction.
  • Créer un portefeuille d’influence sur les politiques et les stratégies, générer des produits, des services ou d’autres innovations ayant un impact positif dans le monde réel.
  • Démontrer que les résultats de la commercialisation et de la traduction sont livrés en temps voulu.
  • Superviser les étudiants en spécialisation et/ou en HDR pour qu’ils terminent leurs travaux dans les délais impartis et obtiennent des résultats productifs et de haute qualité, et leur offrir un encadrement pour leur développement professionnel et leur carrière.
  • Établir/élargir le réseau de l’industrie afin de créer des opportunités de stages.
  • Soutenir les partenariats industriels qui permettent aux HDR d’acquérir une expérience industrielle.

Principaux critères de sélection pour ce poste :

  • doctorat dans une discipline pertinente et/ou autres qualifications et expériences pertinentes
  • réputation émergente en matière de recherche et d’érudition grâce à des publications et/ou des expositions
  • succès dans l’obtention d’un financement externe de la recherche
  • capacité à apporter une contribution aux communautés par le biais de la recherche
  • capacité à contribuer à la direction de la recherche et de l’administration
  • excellentes compétences interpersonnelles et capacité avérée à établir de bonnes relations de travail avec les collègues.
