Good Will Hunters podcast is back, this time in collaboration with the Australian Council for International Development in a special series looking ahead to the new development policy.
“Reimagining Development: Conversations on the New Development Policy” is an eight-episode series launching on February 6th, featuring a range of speakers from across the international development landscape.
The series is hosted by Good Will Hunters founder Rachel Mason Nunn and ACFID’s Chief Policy Officer Jessica Mackenzie. Each episode features an interviewee with a different area of expertise.
These include Minister for International Development and the Pacific, Pat Conroy; head of the Australian Sustainable Finance Institute, Kristy Graham; and CEO of the Indigenous Land and Sea Corporation, Joe Morrison.
Reimagining Development aims to insert new ideas, fresh thinking and innovative voices into the international development arena.
“The focus of this series is to get the juices flowing about the new development policy and the immense potential it represents,” said ACFID CEO Marc Purcell.
“This policy review means there’s scope to reform the sector in a way that is contemporary, meaningful and in tune with the global realities and challenges we face right now.”
The first episode features the CEO of youth development organisation Oaktree, Thenu Herath, who speaks about the challenges faced by young people in the Pacific region and further afield – as well as the immense opportunities they bring.
Episode two will see Minister Conroy share his vision for the new policy, and the importance of strong development capability.
