Other Standards
The ACFID Code of Conduct sets a benchmark for good practice in the Australian NGO community, as well as being an organisational effectiveness and learning tool.
The Code is both informed by and informs other global and national standards relevant to Australian development and humanitarian organisations. While there are often similarities and overlap between standards, the scope, reporting process and assessment mechanism of each standard is influenced by its purpose.
Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC)
The ACNC is the national regulator of charities. ACFID members must be registered with the ACNC and comply with the Governance Standards and the External Conduct Standards.
Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade – Accreditation
Australian non-government organisations wishing to receive funding under the Australian NGO Cooperation Program (ANCP), must be accredited with DFAT.
