AP4D
The Asia-Pacific Development, Diplomacy & Defence Dialogue (AP4D) creates a new dimension in Australia’s international policy-making by bringing together the development, diplomacy and defence communities through dialogue. It is a platform for collaboration for individuals and organisations united by a mission to reimagine Australia’s international relations, led by an Advisory Group of leading Australian foreign policy thinkers.
The value-add of AP4D lies in its ability to bring together authoritative, credible and diverse voices that do not typically collaborate together. AP4D seeks to cultivate and serve as a platform for a ‘4D’ community network to propose positive visions for Australia’s international engagement and practical and achievable pathways forward. Its convening power and facilitation can mobilise unusual and powerful coalitions to crystallise new thinking. The AP4D process is equally as important as the AP4D product.
AP4D’s inaugural program – Shaping a shared future — deepening Australia’s influence in Southeast Asia and the Pacific – commenced in mid-2021 and was funded by the Australian Civil-Military Centre.
